Katrina Leifeld, Esq.

Kate is a licensed attorney in the state of Maine. She started her career serving as a legal aid attorney, where she represented a diverse group of clients. Since then, she’s spent over 15 years in various roles in the U.S. government. This experience as a government employee taught her the value of determination, consistency, discipline, and accuracy—qualities that translate directly into her work as a mediator. She brings the same commitment and follow‑through to every case, helping clients navigate conflict with clarity and steadiness.

She’s also a divorced mother who co-parents on a daily basis. No one looks forward to filing for divorce, or any of the motions to modify that might follow. No one wants to wait years for resolution. Kate knows what it’s like to have raw emotions connected to the most important parts of your life discussed in a courtroom. She’s experienced court calendars that are delayed, scary attorney bills, and the unknowns of litigation—and she’s personally been a victim in the criminal justice system.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. With a little bit of preparation beforehand, you can take part in a structured, fair conversation with the other party in a safe, confidential environment. You can walk away from your experience feeling empowered instead of exhausted.

When she’s not working, Kate loves to spend time with her family and pets, travel, and get lost in a good book.
